Bio
Janet is a passionate and visionary child care community activist with over 20 years of experience in ECD lobby, advocacy, research, project planning, management and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Her expertise lies in the role of play in safeguarding children’s rights in learning Institutions, caregiver empowerment. As an independent consultant, she has consulted for both local and international organizations on projects for young children and families including; UNESCO, International Child Resource Institute, Africa Early Childhood Network (AfECN), World vision – Kenya, One Acre fund among others. As a child advocate specialist, she has developed child protection policies for the International Child Resource Institute, Kidogo Innovations and Sunflower Trust. Janet is well versed in international standards of early years & hygiene and has received international training in Europe and USA. Janet holds a MA and BA in Education from Kenyatta University and is currently undertaking her PhD in Family Counselling Psychology at PAC University, Nairobi, Kenya.
