Our Story
Our journey began in 2008 during the post-election violence in Kenya, when children and families were exposed to extreme violence, that affected and threatened the children’s holistic development and rights.
To this regard, Nyota Care Innovations was established in 2018, to equip caregivers, families and communities to better promote child protection and safeguarding for young children. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to working closely with community-based organizations to address the holistic needs and rights of children aged 0 to 8 years.
Our Story
Furthermore, Nyota recognises the importance of strengthening Early Childhood Development (ECD) through connecting to the law/legal systems.
We work to sensitize legal stakeholders to be more attentive to the distinctive interests of young children, to benefit the legal system and also add insights, dialogue and policy debates around ECD that currently excludes the law.
In addition, Nyota works in partnership with child rights CSOs in Kenya, Eastern Africa and at the Continental level to influence policy and advocate for the rights of young children.
